‘Partnership key to build capacity’

Kathmandu, September 28 :

South Asian experts who are involved in banking and finance institutions in the region have stressed at a recently held conference that entrepreneurial capacity has to be strengthened in the region with the enhancement of partnership approach among countries of the region for improved results.

Speaking at the function, officiating general manager of Agriculture Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), Krishna Bahadur Kunwar said that South Asian experts can be termed as ‘goodwill ambassadors’ as they play a crucial role in expediting cooperatives and rural development institutions in poverty reduction initiatives in respective countries of the region, says a press release issued by the bank today.

According to the press statement, Kunwar said that in poverty reduction and rural sector’s development, the role of community, empowerment and micro-finance institutions is very significant.

At the same function, D Ravi, associate consultant, CICTAB, India stressed on making cooperatives and micro financing institutions more vibrant and an engine in lifting poor people out of financial hardships.
