ILAM: Tea Producers Association, Ilam has urged Gai Guranse Ilam Tea Estate and Jasbire Tea Company to clear payments of green tea leaves to farmers as it has been over seven months that farmers have not been paid. At least 200 tea producers from the area has not been receiving any payment worth around Rs 1.8 million for the last seven months. Payment to farmers has not been made in time owing to the delay in receiving price from domestic and foreign market where tea has been exported, said the tea company.
