Ambition in offing
Kathmandu, May 17:
The second edition of Ambition -education and career expo, is going to be organised on May 23-27, in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
After last year’s mega success on bringing more than 55,000 students, parents, teachers, educationists, abroad-study counseling-seekers, and public under one-roof, the organiser Asia Pacific Communication Associates Nepal (Pvt) Ltd — APCA Nepal — has been looking forward to this year’s four-and-a-half day event.
APCA-Nepal is no longer a new name in the world of event - management. With ‘Wheels Auto Show’ and ‘International Food Festival’ to its credit, it is giving continuity to its another brain-child, Ambition - a complete education and career fair, for the second year.
Within two years of short period, Ambition has established itself as a one-stop shop for all career and educational needs and services, where more than two dozen educational institutes offering courses like Information Communication Technology, journalism, fashion, Chartered Accountancy, dental and hotel management are taking part.
Lately the students have a variety of choices on the courses that they want to study. “While choosing a college, we focus on the courses that have more practical approach towards the market,” says Ujjwal Dhungana — a student of Einstein Academy, Thasikhel — who has just appeared his class 12 exam. “We need a course which has a job prospects,” he adds. According to him Ambition will definitely help him find such courses.
Ambition is no doubt a platform for the students like him and for those also who wants to pursue their studies abroad.
The institutes that are offering career-counseling and counseling services for the abroad-study seekers are yet another attraction of the education and career gala.
“More than 20,000 students come seeking abroad study counseling — mainly for under graduate studies — in the market every year,” says Kumar Thapa, director of Studies at the Cosmic Education Nepal, the main sponsor of the Ambition. “This figure doesn’t include those, who prepare themselves for the test and apply independently,” he adds.
