APCA Nepal institutes ad awards

Kathmandu, February 25:

Celebrating the creativity involved in advertising and to encourage professionals and organisations involved in the advertising industry in Nepal, Asia-Pacific Communication Associates Nepal Pvt Ltd (APCA Nepal) has instituted an award called ‘The Himalayan Times Pegasus Critics Choice Advertising Award’ (THTPCCAA).

The main objective of the award is ‘to improve the quality of press ads in Nepal’ and ‘to reward the big idea’.

Three annual prizes will be awarded through a monthly advertising competition. Three awards would be given each month starting from February, till January next year. The first winner from every month will qualify for the annual awards, while the second and the third winners would be given certificates.

The winner of the annual competition would be given return tickests for two persons to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival, in Cannes, France.

The second and third prize winners would be given return tickets for two persons to attend the Ad Fest in Pattaya and Abby Awards, in Mumbai, respectively.

Advertising agencies registered and recognised in Nepal and working for the print media can participate in the THTPCCAA alone.

To be able to qualify for the competition, a minimum of at least three published insertions within a month in any daily or periodical, newspaper or magazine is required. Each agency would be allowed to submit a maximum of three entries only.

A jury consisting of two brand managers, a representative each from Kathmandu University School of Management, Association of Advertising Agency Nepal and an ad agency that is not a member of AAAN is to be formed.
