MYAGDI: Farmers of Tukuche in Mustang district have surprised the villagers by planting apple trees at the bank of Kaligandaki River. The farmers have started group apple farming this year at the 54-ropani of land, which was unused since long after Kaligandaki River swept away the soil and turn it into a desert. They have planted 1,010 saplings this year. They also began to produce vegetables like potatoes and radish at the area. According to chief of Mustang DADO Sheshmani Bhattarai, the apple farming would flourish here.
