Kathmandu, August 2:

To form a national level organisation, a national assembly of registered auditors, is being organised on August 5 in Kathmandu. The proposed assembly will create a national level association of registered auditors in order to work as an umbrella organisation for institutional development, uniformity and standardising of auditing system as well as capacity building of auditors, said Kamal Kharel, coordinator of the assembly organising committee.

There are about 7,300 registered auditors throughout the country. However, there is no governing council or body of auditors, he said, adding that the upcoming assembly will create such a body.
