Bhaktapur International Trade Fair 2016 from December 9

Bhaktapur International Trade Fair 2016 is to be held from December 9 to 14 at Sallaghari ground this year.

Marking the 50th golden Jubilee of Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the international trade fair is being organised with an aim to upgrade the economic status of people of Bhaktapur.

Organising a press meet here today, BCCI informed that the fair will help to promote the industrial and cultural commodities at affordable price. According to Raju Mrigendra Joshi, the programme co-ordinator of BCCI, various stakeholders have joined hands to make the fair successful.

Similarly, products manufactured in neighbouring countries such as India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, among others, will also be showcased in the six-day trade fair.

According to Joshi, there will be a total of 172 stalls in the fair, along with fun zone for children.

The entrance fee to the fair has been set at Rs 50 per person, while the fee for students has been fixed at Rs 35. Senior citizens, differently-abled people and children younger than eight would be able to visit the fair for free.

Senior Vice President of FNCCI, Bhawani Rana highlighted cultural significance of Bhaktapur and how the city could be promoted for tourism. “Organising trade fairs like these provide an opportunity to cash in on the cultural and aesthetic beauty of Bhaktapur and lure more tourists.”
