Bhotekoshi to be shut till April

Chautara, February 27:

It will take three more months to restart Bhotekoshi Hydroelectricity Project.

According to project officials, at least three months would be needed for a Chinese team to come here, inspect the machines and repair them. Project general manager Narendra

Prajapati said a two Chinese technicians are already here and that repair work would be

carried out after another team of eight members arrives. The project was using only one

unit due to problems in generators. Both units are closed at present, said engineer Siddharaj Panta. It stopped power generation three weeks ago.

The project, which has licence to generate 36 MW of power, generates a maximum of 45 MW during rainy season but only 12-14 MW during the dry season. The 36 MW project was constructed with investment from the private sector.
