Interaction on WTO
BHADRAPUR: District Livestock Service Office, Jhapa organised an interaction on ‘WTO and validity of agriculture production’ on Wednesday. On the occasion, speakers said that the government should pay attention in formulating of livestock policy relating to its implementation, and market management. Presenting a paper on ‘WTO and small farmers of Nepal’ Dr Govinda Jha said that the state should provide resources, means and aid to increase the access of small farmers. — RSS
German trade surplus
WIESBADEN: Germany’s trade surplus expanded in March. The trade surplus amounted to $18.2 billion in March. On a 12-month basis, however, the March trade surplus was down compared with the same month last year when it had amounted. Germany exported goods worth 77.0 billion euros in March. — AFP
SKorean currency row
SEOUL: South Korean exporters called on Wednesday for swift government action to curb the rising local currency. The country’s five business groups led by the Korea International Trade Association warned that the won’s strength against the dollar was hurting exports. — AFP
