NDEP’s branch

KATHMANDU: Nepal Development and Employment Promotion Bank (NDEP Bank) acting president Dr Suwarna Lal Bajracharya inaugurated a new branch of the bank at Tangal on Friday. The branch has ATM service from the very first day of its opening. Apart from deposit collection and loan services, the bank has been providing services like foreign currency exchange, travel cheque issuance, free ATM banking, remittance and bank guarantee to its customers. — HNS


FNCCI concerned

KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has expressed serious concern for cholera victims in Jajarkot, Rukum, and Salyan

and provided financial assistance. According to a release, FNCCI donated a cheque for Rs 2.5 lakh for

the Shree Karnaleshwor Primary School Building construction at Tikarpur, Kailali. FNCCI also gave a fund of Rs 3 lakh to Jajarkot district and Rs 1 lakh each to Rukum and Salyan districts. — HNS

LBFL posts profit

KATHMANDU: Lord Buddha Finance Ltd (LBFL) earned Rs 13.7 million profit in the fiscal year 2008-09. LBFL collected Rs 420 million and invested Rs 380 million in the same period, read a press note. The company invests in hire purchase, housing, business, real estate and education sector. — HNS


Qatar Airways bags award

KATHMANDU: Qatar Airways Cargo got the first prize for highest tonnage of air cargo from Nepal for the year 2008. The programme was organised by Nepal Freight Forwarders’ Association on 15th Cargo day. The award was presented by chief guest Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato, said a press release. — HNS
