RNA seizes goods

MAHOTTARI: The Royal Nepalese Army has seized goods worth about Rs 0.2 million at Gaushala Bazaar in Mahottari district which was reported to be smuggled into Nepal from India. The petrol team of the RNA security base camp seized 18 sacks of sugar and two drums of chemicals that are used for making soaps, 14 cartons of paan masala, four sets of pressure cookers, six sets of stoves. The seized goods are sent to the main custom office at Mithamod. — RSS

Heat damages crops

RASUWA: Potato plants and Maize crops are drying up due to a long spell of dry summer in the mountainous district of Rasuwa. Maize crops have been completely hit by the summer heat. According to district agriculture development office, statistics are yet to be collected to

ascertain the extent of the damages caused to maize crops and potato plants by the drought.
