Sugar factory closes down

SARLAHI: The Indushankar Sugar factory has closed down owing to the short supply of sugarcane. It was well known for the production of largest amount of sugar in Nepal. Frequent bandhs and strikes, and decreasing quality of sugarcane have contributed to the closure of the factory. — RSS

HETAUDA: Nepal Telecom Office, Hetauda has provided e-mail and Internet services to consumers, construction entrepreneurs and journalists of Makawanpur. It distributed 5,112 telephone lines in Hetauda municipality and the peripheral VDCs. It has provided telephone services through marts and VHF systems in 17 VDCs in the district. — RSS

Herb cultivation in Doti

DOTI: Commercial cultivation of herbs has been initiated in community forests of northern VDCs of Doti district. Herbs are grown in Ghanteshwor, Chhatiwaqn, Saraswotinagar, Laksminagar, Narauli and Gadsera VDCs of the district with financial and technical assistance of IUCN. — RSS
