Nabil posts net profit rise

KATHMANDU:

Nabil Bank Ltd registered a growth of 34 per cent in net income during the first two quarters of the current fiscal year. The growth has been possible through increased income, reduced interest expenses and reduction in provision expense, states a press release issued here by the bank. The bank increased its interest earnings by Rs 13 million, while other income registered a 16 per cent growth. — HNS

DoC suspends employees

KATHMANDU:

The department of customs (DoC) suspended nine employees of Tatopani customs. The department has also initiated necessary action against them in accordance with the Civil Service Act-1992. Those suspended are custom officers Gyanendra Raj Dhakal, Gopal Khatri and Jaya Bahadur Bhandari, and non-gazetted officers Dilip Karki and Jeet Bahadur Upreti, Dhruba Mahat, Guru Tripathi, Arjun Sitaula and Ram Prasad Bhattarai. — HNS
