HBL-DDC deal

KATHMANDU: Ashok Rana, CEO of Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL) and Ajablal Yadav, MD of Dairy Development Corporation (DDC), signed an agreement on Sunday to grant a loan of Rs 1 million for dairy cooperatives. The cooperative should make the loan repayment within three years and the loan granted will be used for the purchase of necessary equipment and establishment of dairy chilling plants. — HNS

SBI’s new branch

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd inaugurated its 24th branch office at Ghorahi, Dang on Sunday. According to a press statement, the bank has also brought its new scheme, educational loan for Nepali students in Australia and other countries. The bank, with extension counters and 24 branch offices, now has a total of 30 business units. — HNS

Tourism fest ends

KATHMANDU: The fourth Summer Tourism Fair 2009 organised by Blue Eye India Pvt Ltd, Kolkata, concluded on February 22. The three-day fair started from February 20, said

RBS’ 42nd anniv

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBS) celebrated its 42nd anniversary here on Sunday. On the occasion, the government insurance company also awarded its top 10 agents for their contribution. The life and non-life insurance company recently got Dr Shivhari Sharma and Baburam Aryal as its new administrator and chairman respectively. — HNS

FCAN demand

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN), to get their demands addressed on Friday met Bijay Gacchedar, Minister for Physical Planning and Construction (MoPPC), National Planning Commission member Dr Laxmi Devkota and MoPPC secretaries. FCAN on Sunday held discussions with Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA). According to a press statement, FCAN wants the government’s decision to grant consumer committee Rs 60 lakh for construction works revised. — HNS
