Free service camp

KATHMANDU: Force Motors from India, will set up a free service camp in Biratnagar on February 26 and 27 for the Force Motors vehicles in Nepal. KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) Ltd on Friday inaugurated its branch offices at New Baneshwor, Gyaneshwor and Tripureshwor. The bank, with 26 branch offices and six counters, is providing banking services from 32 different places. The bank 17 ATM counters. — HNS

GBL’s new branch

KATHMANDU: Global Bank Ltd (GBL) inaugurated its 11th branch at Kirtipur on Friday. It plans to open a branch office at Narayangarh and add four more ATM counters. It already has 12 ATM counters. — HNS

Simian menace

MYAGDI: Farmers are a harried lot after hordes of monkeys destroyed food crops in Torakhet, Dole, Chiplenti, Bhukbhuke, Musung villages in Bhakimli-VDC of Myagdi district. Hundreds of monkeys have eaten up wheat, barley, pea, potatoes and banana crops in the village, said farmer Sata Bir Chhantyal. — RSS

Allowance delayed

NEPALGUNJ: Senior citizens, single women and disabled persons in Banke who are eligible for the government-announced social security allowance are deprived of it for the last six months due to the negligence of local authorities. When asked why the allowance had not been distributed for six months, Banke’s Local Development Officer said, “We could not distribute it due to time constraint as we are obliged to attend too many formal programmes.” The government has released Rs 27.8 million for the allowance in Banke. — RSS
