RBB’s profit rises

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) in the first six months of the present fiscal year has registered a net profit of Rs 1.11 billion, an increment of 165.8 per cent in comparison to the same period last year. According to the bank, it has posted an operating profit of Rs 648.6 million, an increment of 121.09 per cent compared to same period last fiscal year. — HNS

LCCI-BFCCI deal

KATHAMANDU: Ajar Man Joshi, general secretary of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Furwa Chiring, general secretary of Bhutan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BFCCI), signed an accord on Sunday. LCCI and BFCCI will now coordinate in various mechanisms related to the development of business, tourism and finance, said a press release. — HNS

Nepal SBI’s branch

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank inaugurated its 23rd branch office at Maharajgunj on Tuesday. The bank is planning to open its branch offices at three more places within the valley at Kalanki, New Baneshwor and Bhaktapur. It is also planning to open six branch offices outside Valley, said a press release. — HNS

Tatopani customs

CHAUTARA: Tatopani Customs reopened on Sunday after a six-day closure due to a strike called by traders on the issue of smuggling. The customs point reopened following an agreement between traders and customs department to control smuggling and increase patrolling. — RSS
