AAN prez bereaved

KATHMANDU: Novaraj Poudel, father of Advertising Association of Nepal’s (AAN) president Nirmal Poudel passed away on Monday evening. Born in 1977 BS, late Poudel is survived by four sons and a daughter. AAn issued a press statement condoling his death. — HNS

NFFA complaint

KATHMANDU: Nepal Freight Forwarders’ Association (NFFA) called on Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Hisila Yami at her office on Wednesday and apprised her of the problems freight forwarders are facing for lack of physical infrastructure in the Air Cargo Complex at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). — HNS

Change of name

KATHMANDU: The third AGM of Lord Buddha Financial Institution (LBFI) has changed its name to Lord Buddha Finance Ltd. The meeting also decided to issue 2:1 rights shares to increase paid up capital to Rs 112.5 million. It earned Rs 3.9 million net profit during the fiscal year 2007-08, according to a press release. — HNS

Tourism event

KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), along with national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and four travel trade companies participated in the 69th edition of Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) and Outbound Travel Mart (TTF & OTM), from February 7 to 9 at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai of India. The event drew 500 participants from 26 countries. — HNS

Project resumes

CHAUTARA: Indrawati Hydropower Project (7.5 MW) resumed operations from Tuesday after Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) agreed to stop power cut in Jyamire area within 15 days. Locals agreed to allow Indrawati-III’s construction work to resume and let NEA’s office reopen. NEA also agreed to build a separate sub-station in the Melamchi region to end the power outage as the power generated there was routed via Panchkhal sub-station of Kavre to the central line. — RSS
