UFL AGM ends
KATHMANDU: United Finance Ltd (UFL) concluded its 14th annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday. The AGM has approved distribution of 20 per cent bonus shares to shareholders from the profit of Rs 91.3 million in the fiscal year 2007-08. The company plans to hike its capital to Rs 160 million within this fiscal year. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd inaugurated a 20th branch office at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Friday. According to a press statement, SS Kanan, chief executive officer of United Telecom Ltd inaugurated the branch office. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Taiwan-based Elite Computer System (ECS) on Friday announced the appointment of InfoTech Computers Pvt Ltd as its national distributor for its range of motherboards. A statement by Ken Cheng, ECS Manager-Sales Division said, “ECS needs to get along with InfoTech Computers for channel promotion in the market and create new routes to expand network.” — HNS

KATHMANDU: Sanima Bikas Bank Ltd on Thursday launched its ATM counter at Nagpokhari. According to a press statement, Sanima registered an impressive performance with total deposit mobilization of Rs 3.69 billion and lending of Rs 2.63 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. — HNS
Repair work on
ITAHARI: Work to reinstall the electricity transmission towers in Haripur and Sripur VDCs of Sunsari that were damaged by floods in Koshi River in the rainy season Sunsari has begun. The import of electricity from India’s Kataiya has been disrupted due to the damage to the towers. Nepal Electricity Authority has awarded the reconstruction contract to Himal Hydropower Company. An engineer with the company, Pitamber Shrestha, said the towers would be reinstalled in a few days. — RSS
