KATHMANDU: Sunrise Apartment Pvt ltd initiated its new project ‘ Sunrise Apartment’ here. According to a press statement, the 17-storey earthquake-resistant apartment with healthy environment has 24-hour security, gymnasium, elevator, fire-fighting and intercom facilities.

NLIC’s new branch

KATHMANDU: Nepal Life Insurance Company Ltd (NLIC) opened a 14th branch at Hetauda. The company plans to open seven more branches and 12 customers care centres by April, said a press release. NLIC has earned Rs 3.74 billion, with the sale of Rs 18.5 million life insurance. — HNS

FNCCI’s appeal

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), in a press statement has urged agitating workers of jute industries to maintain industrial peace. According to FNCCI, employees in the jute mills in Morang and Sunsari districts are protesting since December 31. — HNS

Intel donates PCs

KATHMANDU: Intel has donated 50 computers (PCs) to be used in government-run schools as part of its efforts to extend benefits of technology in the country’s education sector. Intel also committed to train teachers in these schools in the effective use of technology for teaching methods, said a press release. — HNS

Street fest ends

POKHARA: The 10th Pokhara Street Festival held on the occasion of New Year to draw more foreign tourists ended on Thursday. Coordinator of the festival Gopi Bhattarai said 500,000 people visited the fair that began on Sunday. The festival is organized by the Restaurant and Bar Association of Pokhara on a three-km stretch of road along Fewa Lake since the last 10 years with the slogan of ‘’Eat on the street, entertain on the street’’. Various cultural and competitive events were also organized. Regional administrator Rudra Prasad Shrestha gave felicitation letters to the persons and organizations extending help for the festival. — RSS
