IME office opens
KATHMANDU: Acting governor of Nepal Rastra Bank inaugurated IME Financial Institution’s corporate office at Panipokhari on Friday. According to a press release, the company has registered a total paid up capital of Rs 125 million and along with the distribution of 1:1 rights shares, is planning to achieve paid up capital of Rs 250 million. The company has six branch offices. — HNS
Dabur prize winner
KATHMANDU: Dr Saujanya Karmacharya of Kumaripati won the mega bumper prize of Sony Home Theatre and 21-inch LCD TV in the Dabur Nepal competition, “Hajmola Khaney Bahana 2 competition,” according to a press statement. Seronica Karmacharya of Dhapasi and Bipin Ojha of Tanahun won second and third prizes of Sony Playstation Three and Sony Handycam, respectively, 10 other praticipants got Hajmola T-shirts as early bird prizes. —HNS
EBL’s 29th branch
KATHMANDU: Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) inaugurated its 29th branch at Kirtipur on Friday. The bank has 20 ATM counters, including one in Kirtipur and has expansion plans in many more locations, said a release. It recently launched recharge payment through mobiles whereby EBL customers can recharge their prepaid NTC (Namaste and Sky phones) through their mobiles itself. — HNS
Ad-hoc body formed
KATHMANDU: A Central Development Region Commerce and Industry ad-hoc committee was formed during the meet between representatives of the Association of Central Development Region Commerce and Industry (ACDRCI) and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). According to a press statement, the committee will be coordinated by ACDRCI president Dil Kumar Shrestha. — HNS

BHIMPHEDI: Seventeen trade unions were registered in Makwanpur and Chitwan districts. Labourers working in factories, construction companies and projects in Chitwan and Makwanpur are getting their unions registered.
