JBBL, SCT agreement

KATHMANDU: Jyoti Bikas Bank Ltd (JBBL) and SCT Network signed an agreement to provide the former with Debit Card service. “The JBBL Debit Card can be used in over 100 ATMs of Punjab National Bank in India, apart from 195 SCT ATMs and more than 1,000 PoS in Nepal,” states a press release. Jhalak Prasad Khanal, CEO of the bank and Rabindra Malla, MD of SCT Network signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. — HNS

NEW CEO at ADBN

KATHMANDU: Janakraj Shah has been appointed as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agriculture Development Bank Nepal (ADBN). Shah has served in Nepal Bank Ltd for 14 years, states a press release. He was born in Achham in 1963. — HNS

MBL in Narayangarh

KATHMANDU: Machhapucchre Bank Ltd (MBL) inaugurated its branch at Narayangarh on December 8. According to a press release, the bank has a total paid up capital of Rs 1.31 billion and has posted an operating profit of Rs 153.3 million. — HNS

Training starts

KATHMANDU: Commercial and Skill Development Training Centre and Western Rural Development Bank Ltd Butwal jointly started pickle and candle production training from Thursday. According to a press release, the week-long training programme will have the participation of 25 people from Western Rural Development Bank Ltd, Shankernagar and 25 from the Area Office, Semlaar. — HNS

Revenue unaccounted

HETAUDA: Income from the Daman View Tower has not been deposited into the state treasury for the past 18 years. After establishing the tower in 2047 BS, the government had leased it out for Rs 80,000 per year to Ramananda Chaudhary of Siraha for 15 years. However, Chaudhary has been utilising the tower without making any payment to the government. According to the Tourism Ministry, the government has to collect Rs. 2.6 million as rent for the tower which is famous for sightseeing of eight top mountains of the world. — RSS

Biogas projects

DAMAULI: Pragati Biogas and Solar Company has installed 8,020 biogas plants in Tanahun in 14 years. The company also generated 400 KW of electricity and has been launching various programmes related to renewal energy in 40 districts, said managing director Prakash Subedi. He added that they are manufacturing and distributing biogas plants, peltric sets and lamps, water pumps, computers, water heaters and refrigerators run by solar energy. — RSS
