SBL opens new office

KATHMANDU: Sunrise Bank Ltd on Wednesday inaugurated its nineth branch office at New Road and will open its 10th branch at Birtamod. The bank made a collection Rs 6.6 billion, granted loan of Rs 5.48 billion and has operating profit Rs 20.5 million. The bank already has branches in Tinkune, Gabahal and Kalimati of Kathmandu valley, Dharan, Besisahar, Damauli and Dhangadi. — HNS

FNCCI man in Lanka

KATHMANDU: Meghnath Neupane, director general of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) today left for Sri Lanka to participate in a meeting organized there. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) has jointly organized the meeting to hold discussions on “The Role of Private Sector in South Asian Economic Integration”. The meeting will go on from October 16 to 17. — HNS

New cement factory

KATHMANDU: The Triveni Group of industries has invested in a modern cement factory that is to be built in Laxmipur VDC of Dang district. Ghorahi Cement Industry Pvt Ltd will run the factory and proposes to increase annual output to 1500 metric tonnes within two years. Industry spokesperson Shiva Aryal said the factory will utilise 85 per cent local materials and only 15 per cent imported ones. The new factory is also expected to generate employment on a big scale. — HNS
