Hashish destroyed

DANG: Police in Dang destroyed charas seized at different times. In the presence of representatives of the district administration office, district court, media persons and civil society, the police burnt 14 kg of extract of the cannabis plant on Friday. Of the destroyed charas, one kg was impounded last Friday from a passenger bus while the remaining was seized on Nov 28. Three persons were arrested on the charge of transporting the contraband.

Hotelier robbed

CHITWAN: A hotel proprietor was robbed in broad daylight on Friday in Ratnanagar, Chitwan. A dacoit looted Rs 490,000 from Rajendra Kumar Bista, proprietor of Rain Forest Hotel of Sauraha while Bista was going to deposit the amount in Himalayan Bank’s Ratnanagar branch. Police quoted Bista as saying that the dacoit managed to flee from the scene after taking the moneybag, which was kept on the counter while Bista was filling the deposit brochure. Police are searching for the robber.
