Smooth supply urged

KATHMANDU: Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato urged all CDOs to monitor the market during festive season. He also urged Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for efficient and smooth supply of petrol, diesel and kerosene and asked consumers not to hoard these. — HNS

NIC to give bonus

KATHMANDU: NIC Bank has recommended 20 per cent bonus shares (two shares per 10) and 1.0526 per cent dividend for fiscal year 2007-08, subject to approval by Nepal Rastra Bank. “The bank has a record net profit of Rs 243 million in fiscal year 2007-08, which is 53 per cent higher than previous year’s,” said a release. The bank reduced its non-performing loan to 0.86 per cent. — HNS

Thai Air adds flight

KATHMANDU: Thai Airlines is adding three more flights with effect from October 26 in addition to the existing daily flights, making it to a total of 10 flights weekly due to growing demand of air seat to/from Nepal. “TG335/336 will be our new additional flights with Aircraft B772 operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, said a press release. Thai Airways International PCL will be completing its 40th years of flight operation in Nepal. — HNS
