CAN plea to govt

KATHMANDU: Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) on Tuesday hailed the budget statement 2065 as it has cancelled the custom of harmonic codes 84 and 85 used in information technology (IT). A CAN release said around 500 or more people are employed in this sector. It has also urged the government to make the new Nepal an E-Nepal. — HNS

ALIC’s new branch

KATHMANDU: Asian Life Insurance Company (ALIC) opened a 14th branch in Nepalgunj of Banke on Tuesday. According to a press statement issued here, the company has plans to establish around 20 branches. There will be a branch office at Pokhara of Kaski and contact offices in Palpa and Dolpa. ALIC already has contact offices in Dhangadi of Kailali district, Hetauda of Makwanpur district and in Jumla district. — HNS
