LG brings new scheme

KATHMANDU: LG Electronics has introduced a new consumer scheme ‘LG Lavalaskar’ on the occasion of New Year 2065 BS. It offers a plethora of prizes and gifts to be won in special discounted price on LG products, states a press release. On purchase of any LG product, customer gets a coupon. Upon filling personal details on the coupon, customer can send it with the warranty card to Chaudhary Group directly or through the dealer. The prizes are an all expense-paid trip to Pokhara or Sauraha for six couples every week, an Apache RTR 160cc bike every month and Maruti 800 car as a bumper prize. Apart from this, every customer will get a scratch card with a chance to win upto Rs 1,00,000 or other sure shot prizes, on every purchase of LG TV and refrigerator, claims the company. — HNS

LBFIL posts profit

KATHMANDU: Lord Buddha Financial Institution Ltd (LBFIL) has earned five million rupees profit as of the third quarter of the current fiscal year. The company mobilised Rs 210 million and disbursed Rs 190 million as loans till the end of Chaitra, states a press release. It has various savings and deposits scheme as well as consumer lending schemes. — HNS

Milk collection drops

BHIMPHEDI: Hetauda Milk Distribution Centre has stopped supplying milk to Kathmandu since last 10 days, after a drastic fall in the collection of milk from the Tarai region. The centre is currently collecting 14,000 litres of milk from various Tarai districts daily. It used to collect up to 40,000 litres until a few weeks ago. — RSS

Google posts earnings

NEW YORK: Google Inc reported a 30 per cent jump in first-quarter earnings on Thursday to $1.31 billion, allaying fears that the internet search engine leader was struggling with the effects of a US economic slowdown. Revenue also climbed by 42 per cent to $5.19 billion with more than half its sales coming from outside the US. Google’s shares shot up more than 11 per cent in after-hours trading as the earnings report beat analysts’ estimates. — DPA
