New StanChart chief

KATHMANDU: The 235th board meeting of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd unanimously appointed Neeraj Swaroop as the new chairman of the bank. Swaroop is the regional chief executive of Standard Chartered Bank, India and South Asia and he brings with him rich experience and insight in the banking sector of over 16 years, states a press release. He succeeds Jaspal Singh Bindra, who served as the chairman for about three years. Bindra has recently assumed the role of CEO – Asia of Standard Chartered Bank. — HNS

NMB helps children

KATHMANDU: NMB organised a social programme ‘Striving for homeless children’ on the occasion of its shifting to a new building at Babarmahal. The programme was held in Bal Mandir for children as they are the representatives of the future, states a press release. They should be eligible to receive the best possible education, said Upendra Poudel, CEO of the bank. NMB donated a book-shelf with many entertaining and knowledge-based books. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has opened its 19th branch in Ghorahi, Dang. with the new branch, the bank is providing services through 19 branches and six service counters across the country.
