Global goes to Baglung

KATHMANDU: Global bank Ltd has started its operations in Baglung also. Bir Bikram Rayamajhi, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank inaugurating the Baglung branch amid a function expressed happiness over the bank’s initiative to give service to the rural populace. Russia, India eye pact

MOSCOW: An agreement to jointly develop a Russian-Indian multi-role transport aircraft will be signed in October, Russia’s aircraft building company Ilyushin has announced. The firm has also invited Ukraine to take part in the project. An inter-governmental cooperation accord between Russia and India is to be signed by the end of October, said Viktor Livanov, general director of Ilyushin. Public finance worsen

LONDON: Britain’s public finances worsened in August compared with the same month last year. The public sector net cash requirement chalked up a deficit of five billion pounds in August — the highest-ever level for the month. That compared with a shortfall of 3.7 billion pounds in August 2006 and market expectations of a 3.5 billion-pound deficit. — AFP
