UTL’s Teej offer
KATHMANDU: United Telecom Ltd (UTL) has announced a new offer on the occasion of Teej, women’s festival. According to the new offer, UTL’s HHT handheld set with limited mobility and FM radio will be available at Rs 2001. The price is inclusive of all taxes and the offer will last for three days beginning today and can avail from the UTL stall at ongoing Teej Festival at Bhrikutimandap. — HNS
ADB-DG to visit Nepal
KATHMANDU: Kunio Senga, director general of the Asian Development Ban’s South Asia department, is arriving at Kathmandu on Saturday for a five-day official visit. During his visit, Senga is meeting the finance minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and other senior government officials and will hold consultations on the current situation in Nepal and the government’s reform and development agenda, states a press release issued by the ADB Nepal office, today. Senga will also discuss ADB’s future assistance programmes and specific issues related to ADB-assisted projects. —HNS
Sanima’s new branch
KATHMANDU: Sanima Development Bank Ltd (SDBL), a bank promoted by non-resident Nepali (NRN), has opened its first branch in Damak, Jhapa. Badri Prasad Ojha, executive chairman of the bank inaugurated the branch today. SDBL collected Rs 182 million deposits and invested Rs 150 million in 2006-07. The bank made an operating profit of Rs 36.6 million during the
fiscal, states a bank press release here today. The bank has been offering evening banking services, locker services and foreign currency account services. It plans to extend its branch network in other cities of the country. —HNSi
