UTL’s new scheme

KATHMANDU: United Telecom Ltd (UTL), Nepal’s first private telephone operator, has come up with a new scheme of offering its HHT handheld set with limited mobility for driving license holders. According to the new scheme, UTL HHT handheld set with connection will be available at Rs 1501 for a normal set and Rs 2001 for a set with FM radio. The price is inclusive of all taxes and the offer is opened from August 20 to 24. A customer with valid driving license (two wheeler and four wheeler) can avail this offer, states a company press release. The quoted price is the final and the customer doesn’t need to pay any instalment. The scheme is available within the Kathmandu valley only, adds the release. Call charge in UTL is Re 1 per minute exclusive of taxes and a customer will avail 30 free calls every month after payment of monthly rental of Rs 100. — HNS

New rule opposed

KATHMANDU: Freight forwarders, cargo dealers, exporters, customs agents and airlines representatives held a meeting on Friday and decided to oppose a recent decision of new charges being levied by TIA Civil Aviation Office on usage of facilities available in the cargo complex. The meeting held under chairmanship of Namgyal Lama, president of Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA), demanded the government and Civil Aviation Authority to review its new service charges. “Unless we have international standards infrastructures,” they said, “we wouldn’t pay the new charges.” — HNS

ADBL recovers loan

HETAUDA: The Agriculture Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), Hetauda branch has recovered loans of Rs 77.3 million in fiscal year 2063-64 BS. The bank also recovered Rs 30.7 million interest amounting during the period. The bank has been investing in livestock farming, agriculture and fruit farming, tractor purchase and others for the past
