NIC branch shifts

KATHMANDU: NIC Bank’s New Road branch has moved to its new location at Bishal Bazaar. The new location is very spacious and has been done up in NIC Bank’s corporate colour of cool blue providing a customer-friendly ambience, claims a press release. The branch is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling customers having accounts anywhere in NIC Bank’s network to avail of instantaneous service. It also has an evening counter and an ATM machine for 24-hour access. For the security of customers, the Bank has installed multiple surveillance cameras bolstered by security officers.—HNS

Brent oil strikes $78

LONDON: The price of London’s Brent North Sea crude soared above $78 per barrel on Monday amid frenzied speculative buying and concerns over tight fuel supplies in the US. Brent North Sea crude for August delivery touched $78.13 - the highest point since August 9, 2006 and close to the record high point of $78.64 hit two days earlier. — AFP

US, Malaysia FTA

KUALA LUMPUR: The US is aiming to seal a FTA with Malaysia by June next year, a top official said after both sides missed a crucial deadline to fast-track the agreement. — AFP
