BoK brings new plans, products

KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu Ltd has introduced Save for the Future. The announcement regarding the campaign was made in the presence of media persons here today.

“The campaign will inculcate and promote saving habits as we strongly believe that small savings help to meet bigger needs of the future,” said bank CEO Ajaya Shrestha.

“Not limiting ourselves to larger businesses, we have been rendering our services to medium, small and micro finance activities as well. We believe micro savings are more appropriate to the rural and low income segment of the country.”

The bank has also introduced new deposit schemes like Laghu Bachat Khata and Laghu Muddati Khata. Laghu Bachat Khata requires having Rs 1,000 minimum balance and provides up to seven per cent interest.

Its feature includes addition of Rs 266.67 from the bank to the customer immediately after opening of the account.

can be opened with a minimum amount of Rs 10,000 and will attract interest up to 9.5 per cent.

In this fixed deposit, the bank has also started the new process of paying interest amount in advance. “Apart from these facilities, account holders can also get Visa credit card,” Shrestha added.

The bank also introduced My Choice Savings, an account service for women, with seven per cent interest. In total, the bank has 33 branches, six service counters and 37 ATM terminals covering all five development regions of the country. Some of these branches are in located in remote rural/semi-urban areas.
