Book on FDI nominated for international award

Kathmandu, June 30:

‘Foreign Direct Investment in Nepal’, a book written by economist Raghu Bir Bista and published by Center for Integrated Development Studies (CIDS) is nominated for ‘Colleagues Choice Award 2007’ of International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS).

The widely acclaimed book is the only Nepali entrant out of more than 25 nominees for the award, states a press release. The book was distributed in the more than 35 countries of the world.

Raghu Bir Bista is a lecturer of economics in Tribhuvan University (TU) and is deputed in Postgraduate Programme, Department of Economics, Patan Multiple Campus, TU. He is the editor of Economic Journal of Development Studies published by Department of Economics, Patan Multiple Campus.

At present, the author is academic representative and faculty member of Akamai University, USA and visiting lecturer in Central Department of Rural Development Studies.

Foreign Direct Investment in Nepal is the first book, which has explored on the issue of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Nepal in depth. The book also deals with the impact of FDI at macro and micro levels with analysis of its trend, structure and policy environment.
