Books fair kicks off

Satya Mohan Joshi, vice-chancellor of Nepal Language Academy (ALA) inaugurated the ninth Nepal Education and Book Fair-2062 here today. The fair was organised with a view to inform the students, parents, educationists and book-lovers about the latest editions of books and inform them on the education sector, experts said. It will run till May 28 at the Bhrikuti Mandap. On the occasion, Joshi said that the 10th Plan has given high priority to the education sector. “The fair would be instrumental in materialising government’s objective of ‘Education For All’, he said. Prof Abhi Subedi said books are the foundation for a country’s social, educational and ec-onomic development. Similarly, Barbara Whatts, executive director of British Council also highlighted the importance of book fair.
