Business organisations oppose govt declaring public holiday on various occasions

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has urged the government to consider adverse economic impact while declaring public holidays in the Country.

Issuing a press statement today, the NCC lambasted government trend of giving public holidays in various occasions for cheap popularity.

It also further said the responsible government should not declare holidays at will as it has caused adverse impact in economic development of the nation.

The public holiday not only put the government service seekers at the receiving end, but also affected country's economy at a time when the country has been facing a huge trade deficit, reads the statement.
