CAN Infotech 2010 ends on high note

KATHMANDU: The Logitech CAN (Computer Association Nepal) Infotech 2010 Exposition concluded its 16th Nepal Information Technology Show and Conference today.

With over 300,000 people visiting the exposition, it was a very successful event, said the

organisers. Career and education oriented stalls got many registrations for upcoming courses and also received many applications for information technology choice as a career.

“We had as many as 2400 registrations and applications for the upcoming courses in IT,” said Santosh Sharma, marketing officer for Red Stone IT Academy.

According to Sharma, the field of IT is ever-growing and the trend is becoming extremely strong in Nepal. There were 35 stalls of IT career and education at the expo.

“We noticed that there were more youths in number than

any other age category, mainly to gain access and knowledge

on the changing market trends and also to develop knowledge about emerging novelties in

the IT sector,” said CAN president Suresh Karma.

The most popular products at this expo were laptops,

mobiles and anti-virus software. “Our motive was to draw in as many people as possible and we managed to get an over-whelming response from all sectors,” added Karma.
