Kathmandu, August 3 :

The Shangri-La Hotel which was upgraded to a five-star status more than a year ago has now started a casino to attract more tourists beginning this week.

According to a press statement issued by Casino Shangri-La today, it is the newest addition to Kathmandu’s entertainment sector where state-of-the-art gaming technology meets tasteful art-deco -– luxurious, stylish and avant garde.

The casino blends luxury, attention to detail, personalised service, the hottest gaming tables, personal DJ, live shows, knock out cocktails and creative cuisines to make every moment of a visit a special occasion, states a company press release.

As per the statistics, 7,200 people visited casinos in 2005. Casino world over are now being developed as an industry that is both economically sustainable and socially responsible. Casinos are now spending on destination advertising.

As per the statement, all casinos whether in Las Vegas, Macau or now with Casino Shangri-la in Kathmandu are now focusing on product offering and differentiation with quality attractions that focus on tourism.
