Citizens expands

KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International has opened four new branches — one each in Pyuthan, Rukum, Humla and Achham. Rajan Singh Bhandari, chief executive officer of Citizens Bank International, inaugurated these branches amid a special function held on Sunday.

While inaugurating the branches, Bhandari said that Citizens Bank is committed to take banking and financial services to the doors of every Nepali citizen.

Officials of the bank also said that expansion of the network is expected to ease the government’s target to increase financial access of people by assuring every Nepali has a bank account, the bank said in a press statement.

The bank has already opened 14 new branches in fiscal year 2017-18 including in Dhankuta, Solukhumbu, Makawanpur, Kaski, Mahottari, Nawalparasi and Bardiya, among others.

With the opening of the four new branches, Citizens Bank International now has 78 branches across the country, 70 ATMs and 99 branchless banking services.
