Cooperatives shut

DAMAK: The savings of common people are at risk after three cooperatives in Jhapa shut down. Kamaleshwor Cooperative of Topgachi-7, Prithivinagari Cooperative of Prithivinagar and Anarmani Cooperative of Anarmani-1 have closed due to negligence of their managements. Apart from savings of customers, property owned by the cooperatives is also in a dilapidated state. A building at Topgachi belonging to Kamaleshwor Cooperative is on the verge of collapse. Property owned by the other two cooperatives is also unusable. Some account holders have demanded action against the cooperatives’ managements. There are more than 300 cooperatives in Jhapa.
