Dhakal new NAFEA president

KATHMANDU: The 23rd annual general meeting of the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) has elected Bimal Dhakal as its new president.

Dhakal, from the democratic panel, defeated his competitor Saroj Kumar Pokhrel of the progressive panel.

First Vice President Kumud Khanal has been elected from the democratic panel. Similarly, Hari Bahadur Pandey Kshetri and Muktinath Adhikari have been elected second and third vice presidents, respectively from the progressive panel.

Likewise, Rohan Gurung from the progressive panel has been elected as the general secretary and Rajendra Bhandari from the same panel as secretary. Pratima Maharjan of the democratic panel has been elected as NAFEA treasurer.

There is mixed representation of both panels in the executive committee.

Ramila Tamrakar, Shukra Pakhrin, Sachin Sherchan, Saraswoti Gurung, Chetubabu Pokhrel, Deepak Sinjali, Som Bahadur Tamang, Prakash Acharya, Tejumaya Limbu and Pushparaj Chaulagain have been elected as executive members.

The election of the new executive committee was held on Thursday.
