Dilly-dallying will not be accepted in development works: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that any dilly-dallying or obstruction from any authority or official in development works would not be acceptable.

Chairing the meeting of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) today, PM Oli, who is also the chairperson of the Board, said as the IBN was formed to implement and accelerate large-scale projects, the decisions of the Board meetings must be put into practice by the concerned government bodies.

The meeting today decided to accept with conditions the detailed project reports presented by Compunication OY in association with Piory Bioste and Organic Village (NepWaste) for solid waste management of Kathmandu and from BVG India, Greenfield Waste Management Company and KRYSS International J/V (Clean Valley Company-CVC). The board meeting also authorised IBN to hold talks with the bidders for project development after fulfilling the set conditions.

Likewise, the IBN decided to present a proposal before the Council of Ministers for a decision as per the Investment Board Act, 2068 BS for development and implementation of projects following a feasibility study of a Bus Rapid Transit and Metro Cable Care in Kathmandu Valley.

A similar proposal for a decision on development of Geo-Thermal Plant in Nepal would also be tabled at the Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the company that was entrusted with the task of carrying out a feasibility study for metro rail in Kathmandu Valley has been given an additional time of four months to present a detailed project report on the same.

Also present at the meeting were Board Vice-Chair and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Prasad Sapkota, among others.
