Domestic airlines slash airfare
Kathmandu, September 18
Domestic airline companies have slashed the airfare on different routes following the recent reduction in price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). The new airfare will come into effect from Tuesday.
The meeting of the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), held today, decided to cut the airfares by at least Rs 53 and at most Rs 193 depending on the routes.
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) had lowered ATF price for domestic carriers by five rupees per litre last Friday with an aim to provide relief to air travellers during the festive season. Similarly, NOC had cut price of ATF for international
carriers by $50 per kilolitre.
“We have reduced airfares effective from Tuesday. Reduced airfare rate will give some relief to air commuters travelling to different domestic destinations this Dashain and Tihar,” AOAN Spokesperson Ghanashyam Aacharya said.
