EBL opens its branch at Nepalgunj

Kathmandu, January 16:

Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) has opened its 19th branch office at Nepalgunj yesterday.

Pranaya Verma, consul at the Indian embassy inaugurated the branch. Speaking on the occasion, Verma appreciated EBL’s role in contributing towards the growth of the economy.

“A joint venture with Punjab National Bank of India, EBL has set extremely high standards in baking operations in Nepal, a fact that has been recognised not just through numerous awards that the bank has received, but through customer satisfaction. The banking sector is crucial for the healthy economic growth of any country and it is here that EBL has been able to set exemplary standards of professionalism” said Shiv Shanker Mukherjee, Indian ambassador to Nepal, in his message for opening the Nepalgunj branch.

B K Shrestha, chairman of the bank highlighted the pioneering role of the bank in introducing ABBS facility, ATM arrangement with PNB, home loan, professional loan and various other retail lending products.

The bank plans to open its 20th and 21st Branch at Balaju and Birtamod in February 2007 and June 2007, respectively.
