Engineering, IT colleges merged

Kathmandu, April 19:

Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT) and Asian College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) under Pokhara University (PU) have been unified to set up a new college, Nepal College of Information Technology and Management. According to a press release issued here today, both colleges announced their unification and students studying at the ACEM have been transferred to NCITM. With addition of 167 students from ACEM, altogether 670 students will be at NCITM. Established in 2001, NCITM is an IT-cum engineering college, located at Imadol of Lalitpur. The college offers various courses including MSc Computer Science, BE electronics and communication engineering, BE-IT, BE Computer Engineering, and BE Software Engineering. It plans to run two new courses — MSc

Computer Engineering and MSc Computer and Information System. Madhur Shrestha, director of ACEM, said that the unification is to add more strength to the existing capability.
