FCAN gives demand
Kathmandu, February 27:
The Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. It includes a 45-point charter of demands.
Meanwhile, FCAN representatives and those of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Diploma Engineers’ Association, and Federation of Nepal National Transport Entrepreneurs held discussion about the government decision to grant Rs 60 lakh worth of construction works to consumer committees.
FCAN has submitted memorandums to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Minister for Physical Planning and Construction Bijay Kumar Gacchedar.
Major demands of FCAN include giving construction work up to Rs 60 million to contractors according
to qualification, transportation tax should be waived along with Kabadikar and each construction work in the metropolitan city, sub-metropolitan cities and municipalities should be given to contractors having approval letters for construction works.
Members of FCAN from 75 districts and five regional associations participated.
