FEPB to provide training to 10,000 youths

Kathmandu, February 6

The Foreign Employment Promotion Board (FEPB) will provide free training to 10,000 youths willing to go

for foreign employment.

The training is being provided to the youths as most of them are unskilled and hence face difficulty in course of employment abroad.

Earlier, the FEPB had been organising such trainings for around 3,000 youths annually. Preparations are now

being made to take the number to over 10,000.

The training will be imparted as per the need of the particular country, said FEPB Executive Director Raghuraj Kafle.

Training for electricians, plumbers, housekeeping, wiring, cook and security guards will be organised. The training will be organised in targeted districts. The board has allocated an annual budget of Rs 150 million for the training programme.

The Safer Migration Project (SaMi), a bilateral initiative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and government of Nepal, is contributing Rs 100 million for the training programme.
