FHAN elects new committee

Kathmandu, January 9

The Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) has elected a new executive committee under the leadership of Dharma Raj Shakya for the next three years. The 35th annual general meeting (AGM) of FHAN held on Friday unanimously elected Shakya and Senior Vice President Kiran Kumar Dangol, as per a statement.

As per the statement, Homnath Upadhya and Sunil Chitrakar have been unanimously elected as vice presidents representing district/commodities association and associate, respectively. Three vice presidents were elected through a vote — Ratneshwori Shrestha (Industry), Surendrabhai Shakya (Commerce), Prachanda Shakya (Individual).

Similarly, the AGM elected 15 executive members for the 25-member executive committee, namely, Hira Bhattarai, Chudadev Singh Lama, Manmohan Singh Malla, Mohan Krishna Manandhar, Leela Joshi, Sanam Shakya, Bisram Singh, Jivanratna Shakya, Rabindra Shakya, Resham Bahadur Pokharel, Navin Shakya, Pradeep Bajracharya, Pradeep Shakya, Rajman Bajracharya and Kiran Bahadur Khadgi.

As per the statute of the federation, two members will be appointed by its president in consultation with the executive committee, as per statement.
