CAN Softech- 2007 is being organised for the first time in Nepal with an objective of spreading awareness of software which is one of the most important aspects of information technology (IT).

The Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) is to organise the expo at the United World Trade Center at Tripureswor in Kathmandu from May 2- 5 2007, the organisers informed a press meet yesterday.

The expo will be useful in getting information on modern technology by involving software companies from home and abroad with an objective of making the concept of a new Nepal more useful, said chairman of the association, Biplav Man Singh.

On the occasion, a meeting of the Asia-Pacific Computing Industry Organisations including 26 countries of Asia and Pacific will also be organised.

A conference will also be organised for software entrepreneurs, policy makers, educationists, investors sand high-ranking officers on project management, full quality management, and marketisation.
