FNCCI ‘cautiously’ hails budget
Kathmandu, July 16:
Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) observes that the budget is participatory.
“It seems that the budget has incorporated the suggestions of all the political parties,” FNCCI says adding that this ‘make all happy budget’, if failed will create an environment of depression and invite another conflict.
FNCCI has thanked the government for incorporating its suggestions in the budget. “The policies brought to rescue sick-industries and promotion of private sector are positive,” says the umbrella body of private sector. “Similarly, the budget has pegged the inflation at five per cent and GDP at five per cent that is encouraging. However, the implementation is the key to achieve these targets as our past experience shows that the budget document always gives the rosy picture but fails to deliver due to lack of implementation.
FNCCI also hails the policy to promote ‘One Village One Product’. “But the budget has missed many a issues that need immediate attention,” FNCCI says.
Similarly, releasing the press release Federation of Handcraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) has also welcomed the policy to register the Nepal brand for the export promotion. “But implementation will be vital to materialise all these promises,” FHAN says.
Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), has also welcomed the government’s policy ‘Send Home Your Friend’ to promote tourism industry. “The budget is, however over ambitious and difficult to implement,” it says.
