FNCCI call to boost small industries

Kathmandu, August 24:

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today urged for policy level development of micro, cottage and small industries. The sector comprises 80 per cent of the total investment and employment in the country.

FNCCI said until this sector is boosted the country’s economy cannot reach its full potential. It recommended simplification in flow of loan to this sector along with enlargement of policy and increase in investment.

FNCCI held an interaction aimed at implementing various projects going on for the benefit of small industries. During the programme, FNCCI president Kush Kumar Joshi said, “Industries here are still on a small scale. To expand to large scale, different aspects should be recognised and manpower developed.” He added that Nepali handicrafts sell well in the international market and handicrafts industries should be promoted.
